
Someone Who Cares was created and is run by a Registered Nurse who has been recognised by the Queensland Cancer Fund in being awarded the NURSE OF THE YEAR for South East Queensland because of her commitment to Palliative Care Clients and their loved ones. She has extensive qualifications and experience having worked in the community's of Sydney, Northern N.S. W., Gold Coast, Mackay and Southern California for in excess of 30 years. Our aim in the conception of our organisation was to serve the community in the way we all want to be treated, with professionalism, in a friendly sympathetic manner. Since opening in the Gold Coast in 2004, we have increase the areas that we cover to include Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Northern N.S.W. We are an organisation that is well respected in the communities we serve and we pride ourselves in achieving excellence in the standards of care we deliver. We focus on providing regular in-service education to keep all our staff up to date with the most recent information available. Education for all our staff members is another one of our passions.
Our staff live and work in the community they serve, which ensures Someone Who Care's services are in keeping with community needs. We offer Nursing Care, Personal Support, Homemaking, Cleaning and Companionship Services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - 365 days a year. Our fully accredited Nurses also provide Preventative Health and Wellness programs at Someone Who Cares offices, and in the workplace. Someone Who Care's menu of pro-active programs include: Healthy Heart, Diabetes, Foot Care, Asthma, Osteoporosis, Women's Health and Immunization. All our staff undergo a rigerous acceptance proceedure including a National Police Clearance, Child Safety Clearance (Blue Card)
